Projects: Donations in Kind
During the November 2006, April 2007 and September 2007 visits, our contributions included delivery of PCs donated from Seaview School; $3,000 from Don & Jill toward cost of outbound containers; unpacking contents/sorting of donated backpacks; repair and packing of walkers and walking frames; sorting / packing of hospital and operating bed parts; sorting/cleaning/packing toilet chairs.
The Rotary Club of Marion is currently preparing to fulfil a container request received via Margaret D from Markham Valley School (Marobe Province) in PNG. The Head Teacher of the School has submitted the school’s “wish list” (desktop and laptop computers; school bags; musical instruments; lounge sets; plastic chairs; cooking equipment; sports and equipment and uniforms; sewing machines; library books; student text books; mattresses; TV screens; DVD/VCD players) and the school has raised part of the funds to meet the expected cost of the transport of the container.
