Beginnings of RCM

The Rotary Club of Marion was inaugurated on the 13th of May, 1970

On the 27th of August 1970 the Club was presented with its Charter by District Governor Ross Irvine

Instrumental in the formation and sponsorship of the Rotary Club of Marion was the Rotary Club of Edwardstown and the Charter Meeting was chaired by the then President of the Edwardstown Club, Alan Green

Don Cant was inducted as Charter President who then duly accepted and  acknowledged the Charter

The Club was presented with furniture and gifts by Bernie Harvey, Chairman  of the District Gift Committee and these were accepted and acknowledged by the Charter Secretary, Mike Somerville
